Judge gavel on cash

Judge Edward Bronfin, a Denver district judge has ordered Sweet Leaf, a Denver, Colorado-based chain to pay $8.8 million judgment for unpaid rent, late fees and interest in breaching four leases in Denver, Colorado.

Sweet Leaf lost all 26 of its marijuana cultivation, processing and dispensary licenses in Denver, earlier this year, by allegedly allowing customers to exceed daily purchase limits. The judgment was ordered by Denver District Judge Edward Bronfin. He issued the decision on behalf of the properties’ landlord, RF Elati 4125.

In October, The co-owners of Sweet Leaf agreed to pay $2 million in fines to the state, sell Sweet Leaf’s remaining Colorado licenses and stay out of the state’s MJ industry for 15 years.
